Highlights of Travel in Sweden

Travel in Sweden offers something for history buffs and fans of modern city life as well. Evidence of the Vikings and their pillaging days is easy to find, as a stroll through the Swedish countryside can easily lead to a picnic on some ancient burial mound. Cycling routes run through fields that are crowned with ship-shaped stone graves, and rune stones line the roadways in cities even today.

Modern Sweden has come a long way from its war-like past, and it is in fact a model of neutrality and consensus-building, also being home to the Nobel Peace Prize. Visions of pastoral beauty in the countryside, impenetrable forests, and red cottages perched on remote islands are some of the unique and beautiful images of modern Sweden. Much of the country buzzes with a modern energy today, especially in the urban centers like Stockholm, Goteborg, and Malmo.
